Narrative
An author returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot to seek inspiration for his next book, only to find the townspeople being attacked by a bloodthirsty vampire. Writer Gary Dauberman told Den of Geek in June 2019 that his goal with the new version of Salem’s Lot is to make vampires scary again. It wants to break away from the sexier, more romantic undead that have taken over pop culture over the past quarter century, thanks to everything from Interview with the Vampire to Twilight and The Vampire Diaries. The work is believed to have been printed in 1956, at a time when the term “DUI”; it was not used yet.. References Trog (1970).
That being said, it is very mediocre
Sundown Written and performed by Gordon Lightfoot, courtesy of Warner Records, by arrangement with Warner Music Group Film & TV Licensing. First, I have to say that even if the Stephen King adaptation is weak, at least it’s still watchable. It is a testament to the king’s work. This movie is lucky enough to be a King movie. At the beginning of the film I was very emotional, I liked everything, there was an atmosphere of excitement and I felt very King.
No bloodshed either
But every aspect of story development is abandoned. Pretty quickly we come to a place where people have just disappeared from the city. It happens so fast and the remaining people just “know”; the cause is vampires. They also seem to instantly know who the main vampire is, which makes no sense. I’ve seen some incredibly bad horror movies in my life, and this one isn’t bad, it’s just too fast.

Shame. If it was an 8 to 10 episode series it would have worked. The elements are there. The distribution is there. I must admit that I stuck to the source material, it shows that the creators understood what they were working with..
